THE POSITION
The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for driving sales of Interport’s container-based portable storage products and services. The role carries out the full inside sales process – from responding to inquiries and generating proposals to closing deals – while maintaining excellent customer service and supporting administrative sales functions. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sell and respond to web-generated quotes, inbound calls, and walk-in business inquiries
- Proactively solicit and maintain contact with prospective customers
- Conduct follow-up phone calls to ensure timely engagement and conversation with customers
- Handle the entire sales cycle from proposal to close
- Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas
- Greet and assist walk-in customers with product and service information
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and the Modification Shop teams to understand products & services and deliver effective solutions
- Participate in product and services training to stay up to date on technical features
- Maintain a detailed record of activity, customer interactions, and account status in CRM system
- Assist with additional projects as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ work experience, preferably in a sales environment
- Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills
- High integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management software
- Familiarity with web-based applications and internet research
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Willingness to work in office 4 days per week with 1 remote day (after 6 months of employment with satisfactory performance)
- Ability to travel <10%
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Associate’s degree
- Experience in intermodal or portable storage industries
- ERP systems experience(e.g., NetSuite)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Dependable and punctual
- Good Time management and multitasking abilities
- Flexibility and resilience under pressure
- Primarily office-based
- Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions (hot/cold weather, noise) when interacting with customers while showing containers
- Position may at times require standing for long periods of time and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds
- This is a full-time position and the hours of work are between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM weekdays. Plus overtime as required
